We’ll begin by creating unique collaging papers using a variety of mixed media materials and techniques, focusing on textures and layers. You’ll then combine your custom papers with found images, drawings, printed materials, and other types of paper to form a series of small collages—each an artwork in its own right. Finally, you’ll bring everything together to create a unique and personal larger piece of collage-based artwork.

Along the way you’ll discover …

Essential concepts: Such as composition, colour theory, layering, and how to create a visual narrative

Innovative Collage Techniques: Explore countless ways to combine elements and create stunning, expressive images

Perfect Adhesives: Master the best glues and adhesives for achieving lasting, vibrant collages

Creative Cutting Methods: Learn unique and effective ways to cut and shape your papers and images for maximum impact

Thanks so much for running the workshop. It was very inspiring and I took away a whole lot of really useful information in terms of becoming unstuck with regards to my sketchbook!

I drew a picture as I would have done many times before in my sketchbook but the surprise for me was that given the tips to help with how to use your sketchbook I was then I was able to develop my work, something which I was stuck with before.”
