Prints from Edward Burtynsky’s Watermark series can be seen at Vita Vitale, the Azerbaijan pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia until November 2015. The film brings together diverse stories from around the globe about our relationship with water: how we are drawn to it, what we learn from it, how we use it and the consequences of that use. Additional images from this documentary film can be seen here.

I watched Watermark a week or so ago and what I saw is still with me – haunting me! Today, before sending the DVD back I watched the extras. Seeing how the footage was obtained was interesting, as was the interviews with Edward Burtynsky and Jennifer Baichwal. Although I can see why they weren’t in the main film, the deleted scenes were as gripping as the film.
